So, it seems the issue is... when does human life begin? There is much disagreement over this. Obama, in the debate at Saddleback Church, said in answer to the question when does life begin, "Answering that question with specificity is, you know, above my pay grade." Even so, Obama is one of the fiercest supporters of abortion. Let's look at some basic criteria for judging life and a separate life.
When someone is declared dead, it is because they no longer have a heartbeat and/or brain activity. Just 21 days after conception, (one week after a missed period) the heart begins beating. Brain activity starts by 40 days. Our Supreme Court has decided that viability determines life... but this is a moving target a baby becomes a baby sooner now than a decade ago. But life begins so much earlier.
In today's day and age, DNA is a common way to identify an individual. Each person has a unique DNA sequence from conception. As the baby develops, it has its own blood supply and very different physical characteristics and movements than its mother. It is not the mother... what is it? A new growing human life.
When is a baby a human baby? This is a very important question before one legalizes abortion... for if abortion is done after it is a living human baby.. then it is legalized murder. I believe the only logical points for this legality is at conception, because everything else after conception until birth itself is a random and disputable point in time.
Thanks to new 3D/4D ultrasounds we can take a peek at the developing child. Take a look in the video above.
Hi and baaaaa. If you are reading this, you have stumbled across my little corner of the web. It is a humble place. Unassuming. A quiet little place where I share bits about my life, faith, and family, on homeschooling, and on various issues important to me, especially politics, and a random assortment of nonsense. Make yourself at home.
