Trusting the Lord

There are many people who are experiencing deep fear and even panic right now. The economy and the world seem so unstable. For many, it is the first time they feel totally out of control.

And do you know what? They are right. We are not in control.

There is a storm raging in our world. As the financial crisis continues, many people are finding that they built their house on the shifting sands and everything they held of value is washing away. But we have no reason to fear if we put our trust in the One who IS in control if we built our house on the solid rock. Our God is unchanging.... if we build our house on the Word, we have solid footing. We truly serve an awesome God!

In this time of crisis, we need to fix our eyes on Jesus. We need to remember what has eternal value, and remember to store up treasures in Heaven where moths and rust and a stock market crash do not wear it away. And we need to remember to praise our Heavenly Father who has not forgotten us, who will guide us through this storm and bring us to safety.

"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever."
Psalm 28:7-9
