A Reflection on Beauty

The sky always seems so blue in autumn, and the luminous golds and the fiery reds and oranges begin to show in stunning contrast to the sky. The air is crisp and the evenings grow cool. And I can not help but take deep breaths whenever I go out into the fresh fall air.

Our Creator uses such a vivid palette at this time of year... and as beautiful as this Thomas Moran painting is... it does not compare to the beauty wrought by our Heavenly Father. Beauty that assails us with all our senses and yet I know that the beauty of the creation pales when compared to the beauty of our Creator. And frankly that boggles my mind.

Just as I can't help but desire to breathe in that crisp clean air when I step out into the autumn's air... how much more do I deeply desire my God and His beauty! Psalm 27:4, "One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple."
