Be Vigilant!!

Yes, the election is over. We have an new President come January. It may feel as though there is nothing left to do but watch and wait... but do not be deceived. We can not just tune out. We can not just sit idly by. We can not sleep.

Our incoming President and Congress can not simply be given a freedom to rule as we wishes without challenge because much of what they promised is simply unacceptable. Yes, pray for him. (I have outlined my prayer requests for him here) but do not just blindly accept everything... this is still a free country and democracy.

"But you must remember, my fellow-citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing. It behooves you, therefore, to be watchful in your States as well as in the Federal Government." -- Andrew Jackson, Farewell Address, March 4, 1837

I repeatedly come back to the abortion issue because the stakes are so high. I have thrilled at the response of the Catholic church and most of the bishops who have stood up boldly against abortion, even after the election. I am not Catholic but I share their opinion on this matter. Losing the election does not mean quit or be quiet. I believe it means stand up and speak out. Pray and also act. We need a resurgence. This election too many of us quietly watched as the future of the unborn was decided for them. Obama has promised action on abortion in the most extreme ways from the moment his presidency begins. And we must not sleep. This is no time for rest nor retreat. It is time to awake!

"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it." -- Thomas Paine: The American Crisis, No. 4, 1777

But this goes further than the abortion issue. Quietly during the election Obama promised things that if brought to light might have brought outrage.... but I feel sure that with his democratic Congress, they shall work to wrap these concepts up in sparkling paper and present us with an idea so tied in political speech and hopetalk that most will be deceived. He has said that he will create a civilian defensive force as large and powerful and well funded as the military itself. To what aim, my friends? This is what dictatorships throughout history have done. His chief of staff wrote a book detailing "The Plan" where everyone aged 18-25 would serve for 3 months with intensive training. Training? To what aim? Why not simply expand the programs we have? The National Guard, for instance.

If the media will not report on the truth, than we the people must research for ourselves. Why do these men who despise the military and want it cut, want to institute a huge force within our nation of our youth? Students who have been fed socialistic agenda for years and have not been taught to think independently will now be trained to what aim??? We must be vigilant!

"No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation." -- General Douglas MacArthur

I am in prayer for our nation and for a revival! Our nation has been founded on Christian principles and they must not be abandoned. We MUST turn to the Lord. So many in this nation are searching for the Savior... and instead of finding Christ they have turned to Obama to save them. Obama does not save... nor does he lead to Christ... on many issues he is working against God's Word actively. Do not be deceived. Do not lose hope. Our hope is in Christ alone who is on the throne! Our hope is eternal! Yes... our nation needs a Savior! Our nation needs revival!

"If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
