Anyway, we just started the curriculum. It is for my younger child... my son. My daughter is established in Apologia Biology... no changes there... but I had not found that good fit for my son until now.
I still smile to think how excited both kids are about the upcoming lesson's activity. Yup... both kids. It is to build a model of a cel out of jello and bits of stuff... we will use all candy of various kinds. We have decided to expand on the idea just a bit. We will build a model of an animal cell and a plant cell . Anyway... we will have our models for dessert that night... but before we eat it.. my son will explain it all to dad. This will reinforce his learning, and refresh his sister's memory on the matter, AND he will feel great about what he learned. Both my kids love to do presentations for dad and show off a bit to him. Then of course we will have jello for dessert.
The whole curriculum has many fun things to do for science... we chose it a bit late this year but should have no problem finishing as it only schedules for twice a week. What a blessing this curriculum will be to us! It makes science fun and easy and reveals our loving Creator through the science they are learning. My daughter is doing a full high school level science course and although microscope work and dissections are fun... the rest is no where near as much fun as her brother's work. She has shown great interest in "helping." And I will let her. hehe
